For many in the Traffic Management Industry, the AKFS Special Vehicles Ltd Drop & Go® TMV is synonymous with the low floor vehicle that has quite possibly changed the fleet characteristics of many Traffic Management companies across the land.
But our first design of the Drop & Go® TMV didn’t quite look the same as Highway Traffic Management latest batch of vehicles. In fact, it was HTMs forward-thinking Management Team that approached AKFS and suggested the original design concept, and encouraged us to undertake the first build.
Fast forward to the present day, and Highway Traffic Management has taken delivery of 20 new Drop & Go TMVs based on the outstanding Fiat Ducato Back-to-Back cab and AL-KO Vehicle Technology Group 4500mm Low Floor Chassis Conversion.
Four of the twenty TMVs will have dedicated sign racks, and sixteen of the vehicles have opted for additional floor space with no racking. Each of these new HTM vehicles comes complete with a new variant of tapered wheel boxes; shallower in design and tapered towards the top, these new boxes increase physical floor space and allow for easier access for the TM crews that operate them.
